If at all possible, it is best for the environment to buy organically  grown fruits and veggies, but sometimes it just isn't possible. If you can't afford, grow or find all organic produce check out these handy lists that are good to have when shopping to help you make an educated decision regarding organics that fit your pocket book.

DIRTY DOZEN - Buy Organic

CLEAN FIFTEEN - safe to eat non-organic

*** When I say organic I don't necessarily mean labeled organic as there are organically and sustainably grown farm products that don't have the certifications but are still safe to eat and high quality. Just ask the farmer or call the company the product comes from as to how their produce or ingredients are grown and/or sourced.
